The entirety of activities occurring within a university, whether from the institution as the provider or the student as the recipient, can perhaps be encapsulated in the word Science or its synonymous terms. Therefore, the term science , whicould embody all intended meanings and, from a formal perspective, meet the designer’s requirements, was selected. Consequently, in the design process, we aimed to establish a connection between the word scienc and the concept of a passageway. By introducing modifications to the structure of the word science and incorporating curves into its overall form, a configuration emerged that could bridge the space between the walls and the trees, making a striking impression across the street. As a result, a representation of the word science was designed, wherein the end of the letter “م” rests on the ground beside the trees, while the beginning leans against the library wall. In this configuration, the word science spans the street, standing perpendicular to the pedestrian pathway and directly within their line of sight.Our first encounter with the region came in late winter. Even then, the heat was more present than we had expected. Near the site, a simple shelter of timber and palm leaves caught our attention and sparked an idea. Perhaps for a school—and its courtyard, the courtyard and the memories it holds—architecture should seek shade before it seeks form
